Cats Crush Pikeville 116-68

Well, the first game of the season is in the books and what a game it was. It started off somewhat slow, but when Kentucky got going, things got ugly quickly. One thing I'll tell you is, if you're an opposing team, you had better not let this team get lose in the open unless you want to be embarrassed.

Just look at the above box-score. 58 bench points? Really? That is beyond insane. Then you add in the fact that the Cats had 86 points in the paint then things get really dumb. But, it wasn't all good as Pikeville did manage 68 points (which really upset my wife) due to Kentucky's lack of transition and perimeter defense. Speaking of perimeter defense, someone should've picked up K.K. Simmons for UPike as he blitzed the Cats for 28 points (20 in the first half) thanks in large part to his 6-9 from three point range.

It's only the first exhibition and I'm sure things will get ironed out. For now, just enjoy what was a pretty impressive outing by the Cats.

It's time for The Walking Dead....
