Here Are Some Depressing Notes From Last Nights UCLA Game

Final Score: UCLA 87, Kentucky 77
Team Records and Series Notes
  • Kentucky is 7-1 on the season. UCLA is 5-3.
  • Kentucky returns to Rupp Arena on Wednesday at 7 p.m. The game will be telecast on ESPN2.

Game Notes
  • Kentucky started with the lineup of Tyler Ulis, Isaiah Briscoe, Jamal Murray, Marcus Lee and Skal Labissiere.
  • Isiah Briscoe opened the scoring 28 seconds into the game with a made jumper, but UCLA scored the next nine points.
  • Kentucky closed the deficit to 22-21 at the 7:59 mark in the first half.
  • UCLA led by as many as 11 in the first half and was up by eight at halftime.
  • UCLA never trailed in the second half and opened up its largest lead (15) at the 13:08 mark in the second half.

  • UK owns an all-time record of 218-28 (.886) as the nation’s top-ranked team.
  • UK is 66-6 (.916) under Calipari when ranked No. 1 and the Wildcats have been in the No. 1 slot in five of the seven years of Calipari’s term in Lexington.
  • Calipari is 107-11 (.906) all-time as the head coach of the AP’s No. 1 team.

Player Notes
 

  • Freshman Isaiah Briscoe had a career-high 20 points – the second game in a row in which he scored a career high.
    • His 20 points was a team high.
  • Sophomore Tyler Ulis, who missed the last game with an elbow injury, dished a career-high nine assists.
    • He added nine points in 38 minutes of action.
  • Freshman Jamal Murray notched 17 points, his sixth consecutive double-figure game.
    • He grabbed five rebounds, one off his career high.
  • Junior Derek Willis scored 11 points in 14 minutes.
    • The point total was three off his career high, set against Albany.
    • He grabbed a career-high six rebounds, tying freshman Isaac Humphries for the team high.
  • Junior Marcus Lee left the game at the 15:39 mark with a head injury and did not return.
