Cats Beat South Carolina 58-43; Improve to 19-0

Kentucky improves it's record to 19-0 winning 58-43 against South Carolina.

It wasn't the best offensive game Kentucky has had this season, but it ranks right up there for one of their best defensive performances so far. The Cats held the Gamecocks to just 12-53 from the floor or just 23% field goal shooting. USC couldn't find an open shot anywhere on the floor; inside or out, it didn't matter as Kentucky's defense swarmed on every single possession. Just look at the stats (9 blocks, 8 steals) and you can see how good of a defensive game Kentucky played.

The one thing that sticks out on the stat sheet is the way Kentucky was out-rebounded today. They got beat on the boards 40-28 and gave up 18 offensive rebounds which in turn led to 13 second chance points which is what kept USC in the game. Other than that, you can't really complain about today's performance.

More to come through out the day....
