Florida thumps Cats 84-65 TWITTER VERSION

Well, it's not the game Kentucky fans had hoped for, but the outcome was one that most expected. Florida led by as much as 22 in the first half and even went to locker room with a 21 point halftime lead. There was a bit of hope when Kentucky came out, played really good defense and cut the lead to 6, but that's as close as it would get as the Gators found their offense again and finished the game with a 84-65 win over the Cast becoming the first SEC team to go 18-0 in league history.

You have to take your hats off to the Gators, they are one helluva a team and will represent the SEC well in the NCAA Tournament.

However, call me a gluten for punishment, but I'd like one more shot at the Gators next week in the SEC Tournament, just for kicks and giggles. The Cats have a lot to build on coming out of this game considering the way they fought back early in the second half.

                                                                FIRST HALF:

@DanWolken: Just getting embarrassing now for Kentucky. Their season is going to end very shortly.

@DShulman_ESPN: It's a beatdown in Gainesville #gators

@SethDavisHoops:  Sure hope there's nice weather in Kentucky today. Nice day for outdoor activities.

@ericcrawford:  #UK has made only one two-point field goal in this game

@johnclayiv:  One thing that has continued to kill this Kentucky team is lack of quickness.

@BDawsonRivals:  Glass half full: Kentucky's lob defense is super!

@JDrumUK:  If there was a league for holding your hands on top of your head, Andrew Harrison would be MVP.

@ericcrawford:  Florida outrebounding #UK 18-10. Wildcats have zero second-chanc points.

@TreyMambaLyles:  PASS!!!

@KySportsRadio:  All I can hope for at this point is that they out up a fight in the second half and don't quit...remains to be seen.

@DarrellBird:  Memo to Cat fans. Flush this game and go outside to enjoy warm weather.

@coreyp08:  Of the 2,804 games that Kentucky has played, this is the 13th time that they have trailed their opponent by at least 21 points at halftime.

@YahooForde:  Florida certainly looks like it wants to be the first 18-0 team in SEC history. Adding fuel to the Kentucky dumpster fire.

                                                         SECOND HALF:

@SethDavisHoops: Dakari hook. Down to six

@KySportsRadio:  There is the fight I wanted to see

@JimmyDykesLive:  A possible season changing moment for Kentucky with 13 to go in Gainesville. We shall see...

@JDrumUK:  Loosest team in the country playing from down 15-20?

@Ky_Heartbeat:  This team has some confidence! Wow! Playing loose and fun.

@DevinBook:  This team makes me feel bipolar

@MattMayKY:  This is the fight Kentucky fans have wanted to see all year. Good on UK for digging deeper

@rexchapman:  I LOVE THIS! Way to go, Youngsters! THAT'S exactly what I'm talkin' 'bout! Compete together. You've gotta love this. #BBN

@johnclayiv:  Kentucky on a 15-0 run. Best it has looked in a long, long time. Florida 53-47 with 12:18 left.

@KyleTucker_CJ:  Calipari said he didn't know when the light would come on. Ding?

@YahooForde:  Just arrived at Scottrade Center for Arch Madness, where everyone seems more interested in watching Kansas being blown out than UK comeback.

@SethDavisHoops:  Regardless of whether Kentucky finishes this comeback, the Cats will have much to build on. This is their identity: Defend & pound it inside.

@JDrumUK:  Randle must look at that call Prather just got and wonder what's been going on all season.

@JDrumUK:  If Patrick Young is gonna hit running hooks over Cauley-Stein, gonna be tough to get over hump.

@GoodmanESPN:  Kentucky making a nice comeback, just cut it to 8. But Patrick Young answers with a huge bucket. 5:30 left.

@rexchapman:  I hope we play these guys next week.

@ASmithRivals:  Personally, not sold on the "they didn't quit" positive angle. But what's actually important is: will UK gain confidence out of this or not?

@JDrumUK: UK offense (and thoughts of a comeback) ended when Randle's touches inside ended. Don't think he's gotten a look in about 10 min.

@rexchampman:  Congrats to The Kid's and Pel's Gators. Helluv'an-accomplishment. Favs to win it all. #BBN

@ASmithRivals:  This is a postseason sport, so I'll hold off until the very end to make a declarative statements about this year/Cal's system. But...

@ASmithRivals:  We've seen a lot already this year. And pretty much none of it was good.

Doron Lamb:  U can't loose by 19 on CBS

Doron Lamb:  UK should have practice 2nite
