Kentucky vs. Georgia Pre-view

Kentucky will face Georgia in the semi-finals of the SEC Tournament this afternoon after the Bulldogs defeated Ole Miss 75-73 late last night.

Up until Kentucky's performance against LSU last night, many would say that one of the Cats' best performances came when they defeated Georgia 79-54 back in January.  It was one of the few COMPLETE games that they had all season long and it left the Wildcat faithful hopeful that they would finally see the team that they had expected all season long.

However, conference play would prove to be a struggle for this young Wildcat team for most of the season, something that came as a surprise to fans and coaches alike. Fast-forward to last night and things are looking brighter at least for the moment. The Cats can continue to erase some of the bad memories of the regular season with a win over Georgia today, but it will be another tough test for a team that seems to be on the verge of finding the identity it has been searching for all season long.

Calipari set Big Blue Nation abuzz when he breathed the word "tweak" when he was referring to a mysterious change that he implemented into the offense.  He said he completely changed everything and changed it for the better. He nor the team would give any sorta hint at what the "tweak" may have been, but if last night was any indication of how the "tweak" will effect this team, then things are about to get fun. Let's just hope they can sustain the energy throughout the post season.

Here's a look at what the Wildcats will face this afternoon in the Georgia Bulldogs...

The game plan should be the same, limit turnovers, rebound the ball, hit free-throws and guard the three point line. If the Cats can do all those things effectively then a win should be more than possible.

Last night, Kentucky showed that their offense is a direct result of their defense. When the Cats tightened up the defense, LSU had no chance whatsoever of mounting a comeback. That is the type of defense they will need for a full forty minutes today to have the same results. When this team decides to play the type of defense we witnessed last night, they are one of the best teams in the country. This is what Calipari has been trying to get them to buy into all season long. Did they finally buy in last night? One can only hope....

The game is set to tip at 3:00 this afternoon, hopefully we are here discussing another win later today...

GO CATS AND BELIEVE IN THE TWEAK!!!!!
