If you felt as bad as most Kentucky fans did after last nights performance, hopefully you recorded Andrew Wiggins' performance on ESPN. It never gets old watching this kid play, or Huntington Prep for that matter. Andrew and Prep (17-1) both showed they belong on "The Worldwide Leader in Sports" in 70-49 win over Cape Henry (Va.) in the MLK Roundball Classic in Hampton, Va.
Henry kept it close for a while, but there proved to be too much Andrew Wiggins for them to handle. Everytime Cape Henry tried to put together a run , Wiggins had the answer getting to the basket with ease time and time again. No one could stop him, not even an attempt to double team Wiggins would work. Huntington never really pulled away from Cape until the forth quarter when it became obvious to everyone watching why Wiggins is the No. 1 player in the country helping his team outscore Cape 24-11. The only thing that kept Cape Henry in the game that long was their insanely accurate outside shooting, connecting on nine threes with six of those coming in the second half. But Andrew made sure those threes didnt matter finishing the night with a game high 28 points. I could go on and on about Andrew Wiggins, but the truth is, besides Andrew Wiggins Rob (Huntington Prep coach) Fulford has built himself a heck of a team up in Huntington.
You will be able to catch Huntington Prep again on ESPN next Sunday when they take on New Hampton in the Hoophall Classic in Springfield, Mass at 5 p.m.
