Well, now it's official. This Kentucky team is off to the best start in Kentucky Basketball history with a 26-0 after tonight's win.
Things were interesting in the first half to say the least. Tennessee was the aggressor, taking the ball inside time and time again with success. When they actually missed a shot inside, they got the offensive rebound. Too many offensive rebounds to be honest in 19. No way this Kentucky team should give up 19 offensive rebounds, especially to a Tennessee team who doesn't have a starter over 6'8".
Then come the second half when things turned in favor of the Cats. They came out more aggressive on defense and finally made the Volunteers work on the offensive end of the court. The main reason for the change in play was Karl Towns seeing how he only played one minute in the first half due to picking up two quick fouls.
As it turns out, Kentucky was too much for Tennessee to handle down the stretch because of their lack of depth. The Vol's gave a helluva an effort, but ran out of gas half way through the second half.
Now, for a new section of Big Blue Corner's game review's... Let's call it Big Blue Corner's Player Of The Game...
For the first edition, it will be Devin Booker...
Devin kept the Cats in the game in the first half almost entirely by himself. He had a heck of a night, just take a look at his stat line...
Congratulations to Devin Booker for being Big Blue Corner's first ever, Player of The Game. Now, I know that this isn't a huge deal, but still, it's our way of acknowledging a players effort for a game.
