Cats Lose Barnburner to Gators 61-60 (TWITTER VERSION)

(click to enlarge)

I'm not a big believer in moral victories, but if there is such a thing then Kentucky just had one. Down 16 in the second half, they could have simply folded under the pressure instead, they mounted an impressive comeback getting the lead down to one before falling to the Gators 61-60.

Here is you Twitter highlights from tonights game... Now go and enjoy Selection Sunday...

                                                           SECOND HALF:
@BDawsonRivals:  A booming "Blue-White" cheer going right now.

@timecouchtv:  Go Big Blue! #bbn

@KyleTucker_CJ:  Absurdly loud "Blue-White" chant as Cats run into the dome.

@KyleTucker_CJ:  Florida has a decent contingent here, but the Gators definitely just heard mostly a loud boo as they ran out.

@GatorZoneChris:  Georgia Dome looks/sounds like an NCAA regional championship site right now. #Gators vs Cats minutes away.

@DevinBook:  Let's go UK. Time to finish off a perfect weekend. #SECchampionship

@ASmithRivals:  Randle bouncing on his toes, waiting for the game to finally start. Antigua looks right at him. "Just play. Have fun!"

@TreyMambaLyles:  @James63Young got the Kobe's on

@BDawsonRivals:  Early timeout for Calipari. Two threes for Michael Frazier and Florida leads 6-0. Cats 0-5 FGs.

@ericcrawford:  Aaron Harrison walked to huddle trying to explain how he gave up threes to Frazier. Cal held up his hands like, "I don't want to hear it."

@KySportsRadio:  Two clean looks from three to start the game for Florida's best shooter...not exactly what we were looking for

@DanWolken:  It would change everything for Kentucky if teams had to double Randle. Don't see any good teams going down that road. Not necessary.

@ericcrawford:  Look of disgust Calipari gave Tony Greene after calling Randle for a push off: Total.

@KyleTucker_CJ:  This ain't good new for Kentucky. Frazier red hot. Third 3-pointer. Has 11 points in less than six minutes.

@KySportsRadio:  With exception of losing Frazier, really like how UK is playing right now

@DanWolken:  I'm thinking the committee slotted UK as a 6, which is defensible with a win or a loss

@KyleTucker_CJ:  Like that attitude. Randle final gets it, swishes jumper over Young. Doesn't want to be outplayed today. 16-14 UF.

@vaughtsviews:  If Randle could hit that shot, UK is a whole new team

@ASmithRivals:  Calipari has not like much of Aaron Harrison's defense today. Seems to be on him every break in action.

@BDawsonRivals:  Danger zone for Kentucky. Cats not getting anything easy offensively.

@JDrumUK:  Cats in familiar 1 FG over 5+ min stretch. Gators threatening to put UK down double digits.

@KySportsRadio:  Florida is so good...they just have no weaknesses

@BDawsonRivals:  Deflated-looking Cats as they got back on defense. James Youn trying to pick up the energy, "Let's get a stop!" Cats draw a charge.

@kpelton:  Jeff Van Gundy, after watching the SEC Tournament: "I will never complain about our officials again."

@DanWolken:  Now way. Good kid, not as good a player as hyped RT @MtownHoosScoop: @DanWolken Could Poythress be the biggest screw up of Cal's career?

@BDawsonRivals:  So here's adversity again. Cats have responded this weekend, but this sure isn't LSU or Georgia.

@rexchapman:  Frazier got the wind knocked out of him. REMEMBER the first time that happened to YOU??? How SCARY was that!? Thought I was dying.

@DarrellBird: One problem. Florida half court defense so good it's really hard to drive and kick (i.e. the tweak)

@BDawsonRivals:  Implosion in progress here for Kentucky. Rattle, and Florida's carving up Cats.

@rexchapman:  That's just an unbelievable pass by Poythress. It's like he never saw Wilbekin. If you ever wonder why AP struggles - THAT's the reason.

@KySportRadio:  Julius Randle not involved at all early on offense...similar to first half in Gainesville

@KyleTucker_CJ:  Just brutal there. Cats could've taken the last shot of the half. Rushed, turned it over. HALFTIME: No. 1 Florida 40, Kentucky 30.

@KyleTucker_CJ:  Florida's defense: ridiculous.

@AaronsUKBBBlog:  UK hasn't made a 3-pointer and UF is 6-12

@KySportsRadio:  All the open threes Aaron Harrison hit in first two games of Tournament, he is missing tonight...badly

                                                           SECOND HALF:

@ericcrawford:  Kentucky shot-blcoking and rebounding picking up in the last couple of minutes. Still hanging around.

@UKAthletics: Willie Cauley-Stein is providing good energy for UK. He has seven points, seven rebounds and four blocks, bringing his season total to 100.

@vaughtsviews:  Lot Kentucky is doing well but still see fight, heart missing often this year. If making a few 3's, different look

@johncalyiv:  Kentucky still 0-for-6 from 3

@ericcrawford:  Cal yells Randle as team goes to bench, Randle walks right by him, doesn't even look. Cal buries head in hands, then goes to huddle.

@vaughtsviews:  Talk al you want about Uk perimeter play, but Randle jest can't put ball in the hoop right now

@CoachCalDotCom:  The Gators are threatening to pull away for good. They lead the Cats 52-37 with 11:25 left in the game. UK is shooting just 30.8 percent.

@KyleTucker_CJ:  Cats need to at least finish strong here or a lot of the shine (and confidence) comes off their progress this weekend.

@smosswkyt:  Randle needs to stop finessing those 1-footers and just try to tear the damn rim off its hinges.

@ChrisFisher247:  If you are undisciplined offensively, Florida makes you pay. If you are undisciplined defensively, Florida makes you pay.

@KyleTucker_CJ:  Cauley-Stein scores, UF turnover. Aaron Harrison three. It's down to six. First time in single digits since 2:29 first half.

@rexchapman: UH OH!

@BDawsonRivals:  And Kentucky comes to life.

@KySportsRadio:  Here we go!!!! This place is rocking!

@BDawsonRivals:  Kentucky fans going bonkers. 11-0 run, and it's 54-50. UK bench erupted onto the floor as Florida called timeout.

@AaronsBBBlog:  UK on big run with Randle out of lineup

@rexchapman:  Like - I said - at this point - for our young UK players - I just hope we win the ballgame! College basketball - GOTTA LOVE IT!

@KyleTucker_CJ:  Cats slapping the floor on defense. What a quick swing in momentum, energy here.

@ericcrawford:  Under-8 TV timeout. Kentucky with the momentum, Florida's jumpers aren't falling, and they're unable to get inside for scores.

@KyleTucker_CJ:  Cats were in danger of wiping out all the good vibes of this week. This run, win or lose, was huge.

@KySportsRadio:  LOVE this comeback. Lineup was Twins, Young, Willie and Dakari

@BigTymer4UK:  have to stay in Wilbekin and Frazier's jerseys. No 3s for them

@SEC_Craig:  Frazier ends a 14-0 Kentucky run with a three from the corner. UF leads 57-53 with 5:43 left. Great finish on the way

@KySportsRadio:  On that key Florida three, Aaron Harrison was thrown to the ground and no call...his man made three

@AaronsUKBBlog:  Calipari yanks Randle out of the lineup again

@DarrellBird:  Timeout. Cal after Randle for Wilbekin drive. Julius in disbelief. Randle back out. UF 59-53.

@KySportsRadio:  The 14-0 run was what this team needed headed into NCAA Tournament

@rexchapman:  'Cats making this run with Randle on the bench. Coincidence?

@KySportsRadio:  Looks like on replay Aaron tripped. Oh well, misplaced outrage

@vaughtsviews:  Again, just coming back and not wilting is what UK needed. Win or lose, have shown they can play with best. NCAA momentum

@KySportsRadio:  This run has been so damn awesome in person

@KyleTucker_CJ:  Timeout Cats. They have the ball, 15 on the shot clock, 45.8 on the game clock. Down one.

@BDawsonRivals:  Florida misses two front ends, and Kentucky has a chance to win this thing.

@CoachCalDotCom:  HK has a chance to win it. Cal calls timeout with UK trailing 61-60 and 14.0 seconds left. Wow!

@KyleTucker_CJ:  James Young driving for the game winner ... falls down. FINAL: No. 1 Florida 61, Kentucky 60.
