If I told you yesterday that Kentucky would be out rebounded 39-24 (gave up 20 offensive rebounds), gave up 20 second chance points, got outscored in the paint 38-26 and would still win would you have believed me? Well, that's exactly what happened in Rupp against Tennessee. The Vols done everything they needed to do to win the game except hit from 3 point range ( 2-13), something they have done well the last 6 games.
On the other hand, would you have believed me if I told you yesterday that Kentucky would hit 23 of 24 free-throw attempts? That happened as well and it certainly helped the Cats to escape with a 74-66 win over the Vols.
Once again there was a lot to like about this game if you forget the first 15:00 minutes of the game. The play of Julius Randle in the first half was something to watch. He abused Tennessee's interior defense as he scored 16pts in the first half, he ended the game with 18pts and 2 rebounds.
The story of the game, besides the 95% free-throw shooting has got to be the spectacular play of Aaron and Andrew Harrison who combined for 40 (Aaron had 14pts while Andrew scored a career high 26 marking his first 20 point game of his college career) of Kentucky's 74 points.
It was a nice bounce back win for the Cats after the heart-breaker they lost in Arkansas. Now, go enjoy the rest of your weekend...
