96 Championship Team Reunion

A few members of the 96 Championship team were in town for a little reunion over the weekend.


Don't get me wrong, I loved watching what last years team accomplished. But the 96 team, in my mind at least, is the best Kentucky team ever assembled

KSR West Liberty Recovery Effort

The boys at Kentucky Sports Radio (KSR) are hosting their radio show in West Liberty Kentucky today. They are helping to raise money for the West Liberty Recovery Effort to repair the damages done to the town by a tornado earlier this year.

They have multiple guests on today, including UK football coach Joker Philips calling in at 10:45. And John Calipari will be visiting West Liberty in person along with the Championship Trophy.

Did John Calipari try to get Jeff Goodman fired?

By now, I'm sure everyone that follows Kentucky Basketball has heard the interview that Jeff Goodman gave yesterday on ESPN680. Goodman claimed, that while he was with FoxSports.com John Calipari tried to have him fired while he was coach at Memphis.  So this got me wondering if it REALLY happened. So I sent some emails looking for some answers. One of the responses I got was from DeWayne Peevy, the Executive Associate AD / External Operations for Kentucky Basketball, who I might add is one of the best in the business. He had this comment about the interview. 

"No one has heard the interview or plans to.  I can't speculate on what I haven't heard."

Short, sweet and straight to the point.

Sheldon Williams shows excitement

Former Dukie, and the man who COMPLETELY out kicked his coverage by marrying former Lady Vol Candace Parker, couldn't hide his excitement. During USA's game against China, Mr. Parker could barely stay awake to watch his wife play in the Olympics.

Calipari shows off

Somewhere, John Calipari ran into former Dallas Cowboy Ed "Too Tall" Jones. Ed decided to pull out his 1978 Super Bowl Championship ring to show off, Cal thought he'd try to match him. I gotta say, Cal's ring looks better.
